The Board of Directors is seeking individuals to serve on the Superintendent Interview Observer Panel to observe the preliminary interviews of candidates for superintendent of the Waitsburg School District.
The Board of Directors intends to invite 10 district employees and 10 community members to serve on the Interview Observer Panel. Community members interested in being considered for inclusion on the Panel should download an application here or obtain a printed application from the district office or by contacting Hannah Peterson by phone at 509-337-6301 or email at hcole@waitsburgsd.org. Forms should be submitted by 1:00 p.m. on February 28, 2025. The School Board will randomly draw the applications of 10 community members. All Observation Panel applicants selected to participate will be notified of their selection.
The interviews will be held on March 5th & 6th, 2025, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Waitsburg Elementary School Library, 184 Academy Street. Waitsburg. While School Board members will be conducting the interviews, each member of the Interview Observer Panel will have the opportunity to listen and individually provide input to the Board on each candidate’s responses and interaction with the Board. This input will help the Board select finalist candidates to return for final interviews for the position.
For the School Board to gain the best possible information about each candidate, panelists must be able to attend both days of interviews. Please plan to arrive at 4:10 p.m. for the orientation prior to the interview that will begin at 4:30 p.m. There will be three to four interviews each day, with the last interview ending as late as 9:00 p.m. A light dinner will be provided both evenings.
